| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses "two homeowner demonstrations conducted in 1996 [that] were repeated in 1997." States that "the purpose of one is to observe the color response of Kentucky bluegrass to 12 fertilizers applied to plots split by mowing practice." Also states that "the purpose of the second demonstration was to observe the effects of N [nitrogen] rates per application and number of applications on Kentucky bluegrass color and clipping weight." Presents results of the studies, stating that "while color responses have varied somewhat from year-to-year, relative performances have been quite consistent." Concludes that "Spring Valley 25-1-7 consistently stood out in the ability to maintain good turf color when the turf was mulch mowed and the annual N rate reduced by 1.0 lb/M [pounds per thousand square feet]." |
