Abstract/Contents: | Discusses sod establishment. States that "many times...sod jobs go bad where a highly organic soil was laid over the typical black clay loam...The difficulty in getting it established because of the interface between the two soil types has been documented many times." Suggests that installers should "always try to get sod or plants which have been grown on a soil as nearly like that on the job site as [they] can find. There are some ways to overcome the interface problem, but it is much easier to prevent it in the first place." |
