Abstract/Contents:Profiles wireless irrigation technology, stating that "if landscape professionals want to be sure a site is compliant and efficient, they simply need to install a certified Smart Controller." States that "if extra time is taken during set up to input the correct information...the controller will calculate an efficient irrigation schedule based on soil type, plants, shade, [and] sunlight." Concludes that "landscapes are being overwatered by as much as 50 percent, say water agencies...If irrigation systems weren't wasting water, there wouldn't be need for new legislation...[and[ laws forcing companies to engineer their products to meet more stringent regulations will only fuel technological advancement and customer satisfaction."
