Abstract/Contents: | Describes a study conducted by the Center for Turfgrass Environmental Research and Education (CENTERE) at North Carolina State University. States that the project "focuses on the effects of experimental and commercially available biocontrol products, alone and in conjunction with fungicides, for suppression of brown patch in tall-fescue lawns." Results indicate that "although disease suppression was observed in some pots, the biocontrol agent failed to provide control across all replications of the experiment." Concludes that "current biocontrols will not replace the need for timely fungicide application in systems with a low tolerance for disease." |
