Abstract/Contents:Describes possible problems caused by trees on golf courses, including shade, summer stress syndrome, air circulation, safety, and playability. Concludes that "it is critical that before any trees are planted on a golf course or before any further tree additions are planned, the greenkeeper and golf committee sit down and discuss the implications of these trees on course performance in twenty, fifty, and a hundred years time."
