Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the use of music-playing devices by golf course staff. States that "what infuriated management even more than melted exhaust valves were crew workers who refused to take off or turn down their headsets while being spoken to by the superintendent." Describes one superintendent's experience, stating that "if a worker desired music on the course, the combination of hearing protectors/headsets was mandatory. This for allowed for audio volume reduction, so the metallic screech of locked reels could still be detected. Workers also were required to remove headsets when being spoken to by managers." |
