Abstract/Contents: | Presents research "initiated in 1984 to determine which species of Phyllophaga are most abundant in Wisconsin and to see how synchronous their life cycles really are." Describes the study, stating that "standard light traps [were used], equipped with ultraviolet fluorescent bulbs ('blacklights'), to monitor the species present, their relative abundance, and the time of year they were in flight." Reports that "a total of 820 Phyllophaga adults were trapped, identified, and counted in 1984 from the three golf course locations." Concludes that "of the three golf courses trapped both years, Madison and Menasha had higher total trap counts, and Brookfield had a slightly lower trap count in 1985." |
