Abstract/Contents: | Describes a memo written by principal stakeholders in the Golf Industry Show (GIS) stating that "events not sanctioned by show management are off limits to exhibitors." States that "any exhibitor who participated in an unapproved event [including SuperNEWS' turf equipment demo day, Test Drive] would be barred from the show floor." Explains that "after the [2005] Golf Industry Show, [SuperNEWS publisher Dale] Gardner met with GCSAA [Golf Course Superintendents Association of America] officials...in an effort to gain official support for Test Drive...the offer was refused." Concludes that "the heart of the matter...is that [SuperNEWS competes] with the association's magazine, Golf Course Management, for ad dollars, and a successful Test Drive event would mean more ad dollars for SuperNEWS." |
