| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted "to determine the compatability of turf type tall fescue in mixture with Kentucky bluegrass and/or perennial ryegrass under close mowing heights and simulated wear." Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "monoculture plots of a 3-cultivar tall fescue blend, 2-cultivar dwarf tall fescue blend, 3-cultivar Kentucky bluegrass blend, and a 3-cultivar perennial ryegrass blend were planted on September 1989. Several mixtures of each species were also established...The study was duplicated on adjacent parcels of land. One study will be irrigated as needed and the other will receive no irrigation. Each plot will be mowed at 7/8 inches, to simulate a golf course fairway mowing height, and 1½ inches to simulate mowing of athletic field turf." |
