Abstract/Contents: | Describes ways for golf course superintendents to plan their budgets. States that "a good way to begin the budgeting process is to account for items that are absolutely necessary, such as key maintenance supplies and equipment, as well as fixed costs like payroll and benefits." Suggests looking at previous budgets to help predict spending and recommends planning ahead for large purchases and unexpected costs. States that "allowing some wiggle room for unexpected costs is a necessity that requires superintendents to perform a careful balancing act." Concludes that "regardless of the approach, the superintendent should submit his or her budget feeling confident they have made the best decisions possible." |
