Abstract/Contents:Discusses the results of "a multi-year research program...that examined the use of entomogenous nematodes in white grub control. in Missouri" initiated in 1990. States that "the objective of this initial experiment was to determine the efficacy of N. carpocapsae and an experimental nematode strain (ASD) against Phyllophaga and Cyclocephala white grubs in relation to application, spray volume, and post treatment irrigation." Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "in April, the two species of nematode were compared to Turcam for white grub mortality." Reports that "there was no significant difference in the average number of live grubs found between the nematode plots and the control plots, with and without a post-treatment irrigation...In this particular experiment volume and irrigation did not appear to have an affect [effect] on the nematodes' efficacy."
