| Abstract/Contents: | Presents the results of BASF 514 pre- and post-emergence treatments for 1989. Reports that "pre-emergence treatments of BAS 514...greatly reduced crabgrass compared to untreated controls, however the amount of crabgrass showing by August (11 to 43% crabgrass cover) would be considered commercially unacceptable...BAS 514 + BAS 0902S...effectively burned back crabgrass foliage, however one month later on 17 August there were enough recovered crabgrass plants to cover 23-35% of the plot." States that "an important failure to note in this trial is treatment number 8 [BASF 514H WP]. At the 1.5 lb [pounds] ai/A [active ingredient/Acre] rate crabgrass was effectivly burned back...however one month after application and only 17 days after apparent death of crabgrass there was substantial recovery (22% crabgrass cover on 17 August) of crabgrass from the crowns of plants that were not effectively killed." |
