Abstract/Contents: | Profiles fertigation. Suggests that "fertigation using precision chemical metering pumps nurtures turf faster, creating a better playing experience while lowering the cost for sporting fields and golf courses." Explains that fertigation was "first pioneered as a way to spread agricultural chemicals and fertilizers on farmland during the 1970s." States that one "advantage [of fertigation] is efficiency of nutrient distribution. For example, potassium and nitrogen are 90 percent active compared to only 70 percent with a traditional granular approach." |
