Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the 2005 renovation of the baseball field at Oldsmobile Park in Lansing, Michigan, including the installation of sod grown at the Hancock Turfgrass Research Center on the Michigan State University campus in East Lansing, Michigan. Provides advice to consider after sod has been installed on a baseball field, suggesting to "1.) roll it with a heavy roller 2.) Aerate as soon as the aerator won't lift the sod and 3.) Topdress it as heavy as you dare." Also warns that new sod "will be a little lumpy"; "will take a few months to look good"; and that "it will take a lot of time to straighten and cut and level all the edges of new sod to match the infield dirt, pitchers mound and warning track." |
