Abstract/Contents:Discusses onsite weather stations, stating that "for many [golf course] superintendents the most compelling reason to have an onsite weather station is to assist them in dealing with the variability of weather conditions within their golf course." Describes possible benefits of an onsite weather station including more accurate irrigation run times. Also discusses site selection, grounding, and communication options. Concludes that "when analyzing the financial benefits of owning a weather station, it becomes clear these tools should no longer be the first items cut in competetive bids."
