Abstract/Contents:Discusses how golf course superintendents can have an effectively planned budget. States that "budgeting is a process of analyzing a variety of factors. In reviewing past records, you will be able to determine the amount of irrigation used, pesticides applied, labour [labor] requirements and other variables." Suggests that "superintendents should allocate at least five per cent of their budget for emergencies." Discusses how to begin the budget after considering previous budgets, unexpected costs, and the course's financial status. Concludes that "flexible, changing budgets can allow for unplanned expenses and unpredictable conditions, making your job as superintendent more manageable."
