Abstract/Contents: | Variety trials were conducted on Creeping red fesuce (Festuca rubra L. subsp. rubra) and Chewings red fescue (Festuca rubra L. subsp. commutata Gaud.) for quality in pure stands and in mixtures with other grasses such as Kentucky bluegrass, bentgrass and perennial ryegrass. Red fescue characteristics are discussed as well as performance. Includes a table of five-year turf quality scores at two cutting heights for twenty-three fine fescues for 1969-1974. |
