Abstract/Contents:Study of nine nitrogen treatments which included: activated sewage sludge (Milorganite), Ureaform (UF-Bluechip), Isobutylidene diurea (IBDU), 75% UF-25% urea (UF + Urea), and Urea (prilled), at different application rates. Results show that certain slow-release N carriers, such as milorganite, are capable of having a season-long effect on turfgrass when applied in the fall. Other materials, such as ureaform and IBDU, may perform better when combined with a soluble N source or when applications are made in the spring as well as fall. A quick-acting N source, such as urea, when applied as in this study, was an efficient N fertilizer.
