Abstract/Contents: | Profiles Antelop Hills, a 36 hole municipal facility in Prescott, Arizona, and superintendent Vernon Lewis. Explains that unlike courses near by, they do not overseed ther bluegrass fairways and roughs and bentgrass greens, which go dormant and require fertilization to come out of dormancy. States that "the city has continued to upgrade the infrastructure of the property...[and they have installed] an irrigation system that private courses might envy." Discusses Antelop Hills' water use, explaining that "like any course in the Southwest, Antelop has some water issues, but constrictions are not as stringent as elsewhere." States that Antelop Hills is "a tree-lined course, open year-round, with excellent playing conditions, cared for by a competent superintendent who grew up in town, in a beautiful setting just outside an authentic city." |
