Abstract/Contents:Details pest regulation challenges for the United States during 1998 and 1999. States that "in 1998, many areas of the Southeast suffered through a record year for fall armyworms" and "during 1999...plenty of fire ants [were seen] in the northern extremes of their range, probably due to mild winters." Discusses the growing concern of insect pests in turf and how regulatory efforts are evolving. Concludes that "from the pests to the pesticides, it's a continually evolving picture that requires a lot of effort to keep abreast of the latest information."
