Abstract/Contents:SUMMARY: "Nutsedges proliferate where cultural practices and crop rotations provide conditions for growth and development of these low-growing, moderately competitive perennial weeds. Maintenance of an aggressive, year-round weed management program that combines preventive, mechanical, chemical and possibly biological control (5) practices will suppress yellow nutsedge and improve production efficiencies within most cropping systems. Continued research involving crop rotations, weed-crop interference, life cycle studies that emphasize tuber development and sprouting, response to control practices including herbicides, and integration of these practices into year-round management strategies will lead to improved weed control and increased crop production efficiencies."
