| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses testing of six different seed mixtures to determine their suitability for use in private lawns and public parks. Details methods used in the study, stating that over a period of two years, grass grown from each of the six mixtures was maintained and evaluated based on criteria including rate of growth and quantity of clippings produced. Reports that "The results of part 1 show that during the seeding [first] year, for the mixture 'Berliner Tiergarten', the growth of the graminae went 40% and the swathe [quantity of clippings] beyond that of the selected seed mixtures. More differences were observed during the second year of the experiment, although with [lower] magnitude. The test proves that the importance of both characteristics depends on the genetic markers in the variety of the graminae." |
