Abstract/Contents:Discusses potential Poa annua removal methods. Mentions trials conducted on Velocity and reports that "results indicate that it is a viable option for removing Poa annua from bentgrass courses." Cautions that "Velocity cannot be used on Kentucky bluegrass courses because Kentucky bluegrass is too similar to Poa annua." States that "while sports fields and home lawns are seeing an increase in Poa, no quick fix appears on the horizon for them [because] sports fields are used almost continuously, which doesn't allow for a removal process." Describes Poa annua growing conditions, stating that it "tends to be in high-maintenance areas where significant irrigation is used" and cites an increased level of maintenance on sod farms as a potential cause of Poa infestation.
