| Abstract/Contents: | "Mid- to late-instar mole crickets, Scapteriscus acletus Rehn and Hebard and S. vicinus Scudder, were exposed for 96 h to Sulphur-35 labeled bahia and bermudagrass varieties with alternative foods topically added to ½ of treatments. Feeding response was determined by relating nymphal gut content radioactivity to specific activity of plants. Significantly higher mean amounts of grass varieties were detected in S. vicinus when exposed to treatments without alternative food sources. Comparing varieties, a significantly greater amount of bahiagrass was observed in S. vicinus." |
