Abstract/Contents:Responds to a question asking how to avoid summer bentgrass decline problems using spring fertilization practices. Suggests that "the problem is knowing exactly what causes summer decline in cool-season grasses and if it is always the same thing." Concludes that "management variables can be adjusted to minimize summer decline...Summer stress cannot be prevented but careful fertility management can help minimize turfgrass decline."
