Abstract/Contents:Discusses trade show consolidation, stating that "there's the Golf Industry Show, which combined the trade shows of the GCSAA [Golf Course Superintendents Association of America], National Golf Course Owners Association [NGCOA], and, [in 2007], the Club Managers Association of America." Explains that "some of the larger trade show exhibitors would like to see the same sort of consolidation occur in Europe, and they are intent on making their position known. Which is why at [January 2007's] BTME [BIGGA (British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association) Turf Management Exhibition] and Clubhouse Exhibition, also known as Harrogate Week, in Yorkshire, England, there were some major omissions from the exhibitor list." States that "what...manufacturers want to see, of course, is one trade show per year in England, not two." Suggests that "industry trade shows have become much less efficient than they once were in terms of acquiring and maintaining customers, which at the end of the day is what they are all about."
