| Abstract/Contents: | "The efficacy of various fungicides for controlling gray snow mold (Typhula incarnata) was evaluated. Two field studies were conducted on perennial ryegrass and creeping bentgrass fairways located in Storrs and Torrington, CT, respectively. Treatments were initiated on 28 October and sequential/late treatments were applied on 6 December. The fairway turf at both sites was mowed to a height of 0.5 inches and subjected to routine maintenance practices throughout the growing season. Snow fall occurred immediatley following the final application. No disease was observed at the study site located in Storrs, CT. Gray snow mold was present at the Torrington Country Club site, but disease pressure was extremely low and no differences existed among any treatments. Although not observed on the creeping bentgrass turf at Torrington Country Club, severe discoloration was observed in the spring on perennial ryegrass treated with Spectator Ultra (Early)+ Revere 4000 (Late)" |
