| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to "determine the impact of various moss control products on the development and severity of anthracnose." Details the materials and methods used in the study, stating that "treatments were initiated in October 2005 and consisted of three moss control products applied alone or in combination with fungicide tank-mixes commonly used to manage anthracnose." Reports that "turfgrass injury was observed within plots treated with Junction on all rating dates." Also reports that "percent anthracnose and disease severity were highly variable and no differences were observed among any treatments, regardless of whether a fungicide was applied or not." Mentions that "it should be pointed out, that fungicides applied to the portion of the practice putting green not evaluated in this study appeared to reduce disease severity. This anecdotal data suggests that late-winter or early spring fungicide applications may help to reduce anthracnose, despite limited plant growth during this time." |
