Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the use of wetting agents, which may help "compensate for problem conditions by physically changing water, by making it 'wetter,' through the lowering of tensions." Suggests that "wetting agents are far more economical to use than soil amendments and can be applied more generally and to larger areas. If scientifically prepared, they are biodegradable, environmentally safe and effective in all types of soil." Concludes that "in always seeking to improve the turf, the golf course superintendent who does his homework should be aware of each new and better means of turf management in order to achieve the most practical and effective result." |
