Discusses water efficiency as an important trend, stating that "there are options like rainwater harvesting, stormwater collection, ponds, wells, collecting condensation from HVAC pipes into a cistern - even large-scale dehumidifiers that withdraw moisture from the outside air and send the water to onsite storage tanks." Suggests that "municipalities are quickly realizing the economic impact of good irrigation planning." States that "water is viewed as plentiful and inexpensive" and that "certification and licensing could be one answer to force compliance." Recommends that "the industry needs better communication with the public about how a system designed and installed by a professional can conserve water and thus be more cost-efficient and environmentally sensitive." Mentions that pricing is a hot topic in areas of the country with suffering economies. |
