| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to "assess the efficacy and safety of various plant growth regulators and tank-mix combinations for annual bluegrass seedhead control." Details the materials and methods used in the study, stating that "treatments were initiated on 13 [April 2006] and sequential applications made on 27 [April 2006]." Reports that "only plots treated with Primo + Banner MAXX resulted in acceptable levels...of seedhead suppression." Also reports that "few injury differences existed among the treatments, but plots receiving applications of Primo + Banner MAXX generally exhibited the greatest injury during the study. Turfgrass color and quality generally corresponded to the level of turfgrass injury." Results indicate that "annual bluegrass seedhead suppression was unacceptable regardless of treatment." Concludes that "the use of plant growth regulators has been shown to result in a reduction of annual bluegrass seedheads, but the window of opportunity to apply these products is narrow." |
