| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted "to determine the color responses of lawn turf to various sources of N-based [nitrogen] fertilizers." Details the materials and methods used in the study, stating that "treatments consisted of the following fertilizers: Urea; LESCO 18-2-18, 50% slow release; Gro-Well 15-0-4; Gro-Well 10-0-0 with Fe [iron]; and Sustaine 5-2-4." Reports that "for most dates, the Gro-Well 15-0-4 and 10-0-0Fe returned turf quality readings comparable or greater than the commonly used urea and synthetic slow-release fertilizers...Across the season, three applications provided better turf quality than two applications." Concludes that "early spring meter readings will be taken before the first application in the second year [2007] to determine any residual treatment responses from 2006." |
