| Abstract/Contents: | Presents an experiment conducted to determine if normalized difference vegation index (NDVI) "measurements may be useful in determining nitrogen status of turfgrass." Details the materials and methods used in the study, stating that "treatments consisted of nine rates of nitrogen fertilization...and [a] potassium application rate of either 0 or 2.0 lbs. [pounds]." Reports that "NDVI measurements, pooled across sample dates, were significantly related to nitrogen application rate." Also reports that "vegetative cover was significantly related to NDVI measurements during turf grow-in." Concludes that "NDVI measurements will be a useful tool for the quantification of turfgrass cover, indicating, for example, turf establishment, disease, wear, and recovery." |
