Abstract/Contents:Populations of Pediasia trisecta (Wlk.) were studied in infested turf on common Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis) and red fescue (Festuca rubra) in New Jersey in 1972-74. There were 3 generations a year, and overwintering took place in the larval stage in the turfgrass thatch. Larvae resumed feeding and pupated in spring. Maximum larval density occurred at the beginning of June, end of July and beginning of October. The flight period extended from the third week of May to the end of October. Mated females lived for about 8 days and laid an average of 470 eggs each. Peak egg density occurred in the 4th week of June, 4th week of August, and mid-October, for the 3 generations, respectively.
