Abstract/Contents:Briefly discusses "field trials of North American cultivars...evaluated in Uzbekistan." States that it "is the first turfgrass breeding and evaluation program in Central Asia. The U.S. [United States] scientists provided seeds of turfgrass cultivars for these trials and also provided technical assistance in setting up the field plots in Uzbekistan." Reports that "through these efforts, Rutgers University...possesses the largest and most diverse collection of Central Asian turfgrass germplasm in the U.S." Concludes that "this cooperative exchange has been a successful international collaboration and has provided Rutgers scientists with access to unique germplasm that has now been incorporated into the turf breeding collection."
