| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted "to evaluate Kentucky bluegrass genotypes for differences in morphology based on the protocols put forth by the Plant Variety Protection Office of the US [United States] Department of Agriculture." Details the materials and methods used in the study, stating that "one-hundred and seventy-three Kentucky bluegrass cultivars and selections (including all entries of the 2000 National Kentucky bluegrass test sponsored by the National Turfgrass Evaluation Program [NTEP]) were planted in a randomized complete block design with three replications." Reports results of heading and flowering data, plant width, panicle length, and flag leaf height, width and length. Concludes that "through interpretation of these data the turfgrass professional will be prepared to best select turfgrass cultivars for their particular niche, resulting in sustainable, high-quality turfgrass management." |
