| Abstract/Contents: | "Evidence from herbicide efficacy results suggest that distinct quackgrass biotypes exist in Ontario. The purpose of this work was to isolate a number of biotypes. Morphological characteristics such as leaf width and length, leaf pubescence, plant habit, plant color and seed head traits were used as the basis for initial selection. A rhizome section was obtained from each candidate biotype and allowed to establish in a field nursery area. These selected plants will undergo further experimentation to evaluate physiological biotype differences. [Table 1] [Table 2] [Table 3] [Table 4]." |
