Abstract/Contents: | Discusses steps that may help keep cool-season lawn ready to handle the stress of summer. Suggests that "don't mow the grass if it doesn't need it, and never now off more than 1/3 of the blade height at any one mowing." Also suggests controlling irrigation, stating that, "the old rule 'water deeply and infrequently' makes sound agronomic sense because you want the play roots to chase (and later search for) the water deep into the soil." |
