Abstract/Contents:Details the potential uses and limits of grid pavers which are stable grassy surfaces "capable of sustaining light traffic." States that a vegetating paved surface is more sustainable due to reduced runoff and slowed sheet flow drainage. Explains that residential use is typically for driveways where units are placed in two parallel bands below wheel paths while commercial use is primarily for fire lanes and overflow parking lots. Mentions pedestiran use in high foot traffic areas. States that there have been uses of the product for erosion control purposes with limited success. Explains that "appropriate grassy species selection, frequent watering, fertilizers and weed control are required if the objective is to have a successful grassed area."
