Abstract/Contents:"Bromegrass and reed canarygrass responded differently to soil temperature, available soil P, and phosphatic fertilizer when grown in a growth chamber. Bromegrass yielded less than reed canarygrass but contained more N and P in the forage. The difference in P content was greatest on soils with medium levels of P and was very small on soils with either high or low levels of P. The yield of reed canarygrass was reduced more by lower temperature than the yield of bromegrass. The study was conducted at three soil temperatures, on three soils differing in levels of available P and applications of four rates of phosphatic fertilizer."
