Abstract/Contents:Announces that the European Union's (EU) ban on the use of strychnine poison will not be reversed. States that "manufacturers failed to provide scientific evidence proving strchnine is safe and so a last ditch appeal to the EU by the government provided the only opportunity to prevent a ban. But now all EU countries have joined the European Commission in unanimously rejecting the UK's [United Kingdom] appeal to allow the poison to be used in Britain." Discusses the potential impacts of the ban, stating that those "who have been granted government licenses to use strychnine to kill moles on agricultural or other extensive grasslands such as golf courses, now have to use other methods."
