Abstract/Contents: | Details preparations for the Super Bowl at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Florida, and the relationship between the National Football League (NFL) Super Bowl Crew and the crew of the host stadium. States that with big roll sod, "it's usually best to resod the whole field for consistency and stability." Mentions that the Super Bowl sod is watched over for a year and there are always at least two sources in case of weather problems. Explains that all materials and equipment used for pregame and halftime shows are removed by specially hired crews, which constitute three tractor trailers full. Details the after game process which includes leaving extra supplies to the grounds crew and stripping the field wall to wall and resodding in preparation for the next season. |
