Abstract/Contents: | "Electrical energy use was recorded for soil heating studies conducted in turf from 1967 to 1969. Heating densities of 54 W/m2 (5 W/ft2), 108 W/m2 (10 W/ft2), and 162 W/m2 (15 W/ft2) were employed. Energy consumption was a function of environmental conditions. Regression lines were constructed from kilowatt-hour and degree-day data. These data should be useful for estimating energy requirements of similar soil heating installations in turf." |
