Abstract/Contents:Discusses the potential impacts of painted logos on natural grass, stating that "the impact that logos make is well worth the time involved in creating them." Suggests keeping the creation of a new logo simple and working with a company experienced in developing custom stencils. Details the process of accurately laying out the stencil, anchoring it, and the use of field marking paint to establish the logo. Recommends "once the cutouts have been marked and the stencil removed, use an airless paint machine with a hose and nozzle attachment to fill in the marked design with the appropriate colors." Suggests that logos can be repainted if no competing activities take place between events. Discusses the importance of timing, stating that if workers paint too early mowing will reduce the sharpness of the image, but suggests that they "allow sufficient time for the paint to dry and set up in case [of] rain or snow." Suggests that "a healthy, tight-knit stand of grass mowed low to form a tight canopy works best."
