Abstract/Contents:Profiles the turf used on the field for Super Bowl XLI, which "was Tifway 419 bermudagrass grown on plastic on a farm in Indiantown, Florida." Explains that the turf replaced the originally planned Princess 77 sod due to quality issues. States that the Tifway 419 "was perfect sod, each edge looked like a razor blade had cut it, 400 feet long, down in less than nine minutes." Explains that the field sustained "no damage from the half-time and pregame rehearsals, which had totaled 24 hours plus, or from a high school football game that lasted two hours."
