Abstract/Contents: | Investigates potential cause of brown areas in newly sodded yards. States that diseases were suspected at first but later ruled out. Cites pieces of old concrete below the shallow soil which stopped the roots from developing deep enough to survive summer as the cause of the brown spots. States that "the buried debris was deep enough that minimal soil preparation for sodding did not hit it." Recommends removing the debris and resodding those areas. |
