Abstract/Contents: | Details the use of recycled water for turf irrigation in order to increase conservation, especially in dry areas. States that "in mid-May of 2007, drought-related conditions accross South Florida caused water shortages so extreme that the South Florida Water Management Distcrict (SFWMD) issued Phase III Mandatory Water Use Restrictions...Only 100 percent reclaimed water was not restricted." Concludes that "Recycled water, which may be the only nonrestricted water source available during extended droughts and water shortages, is one option that many will incorporate into their irrigation programs." |
