States that "these strategies include the installation of irrigation scheduling technologies which are aimed at determining minimum irrigation requirements of turfgrass...These technologies include digital image analysis and spectroradiometry, which measure plants light reflectance in response to stress." Briefly mentions research conducted "to investigate the accuracy of soil moisture sensors and to evaluate remote sensing technologies for quantifying stress in turf." Concludes that "Soil moisture measurements, spectral reflectances, and digital image analysis effectiveley predicted drought stress and may have applications in turfgrass management as rapid and non-destructive methods to assess water status in turf." |
