Abstract/Contents:Profiles Saratoga smooth grass. States that "the synthetic variety has excellent seedling vigor and starts growth earlier in the spring than other available bromegrass varieties." Reports that "under limited seed production tests Saratoga has been equal to Lincoln in yield and quality. In resistance to common foliage diseases such as brown spot and scald, Saratoga has been equal to Lincoln, but superior to Manchar." Concludes that "[Saratoga] is a recommended variety for New York and is adapted to adjacent areas of similar environment."
