Abstract/Contents:"A normalized irrigation interval (In) is defined, and a procedure is presented for estimating the temporal and spatial distribution of In. To illustrate the procedure, In was determined for Florida conditions. The calculations are based on a set of arbitrarily defined "normal" soil and plant parameters that isolate the effects of climate on irrigation interval, and monthly average Penman evapotranspiration from a 25-yr record. The results are presented graphically and can be used to determine expected irrigation intervals at any location and time of the year without the need to carry out a climatic analysis."
